After coming home from a family wedding, the reader starts struggling with her ED again. Christina notices... she always notices... the little things... right away. She immediately does everything she can to help: meal-prepping her favorite foods, making sure they sit down and eat together every night. Christina's love and attentiveness helps the reader slowly starts finding her footing again and remember that she doesn't have to go through recovery by herself.

This is a version of her, in another timeline perhaps. I am enthralled by her and I have so much love for all she has done for women, and I also have infinite respect for her happy marriage. Once a year, different agencies all throughout the world do a gala. Officially the gala is for them to allow soulmates to meet each other in a neutral ground. No matter who arrives they aren't allowed to arrest them. Unofficially its a chance to recruit the more skittish people. This year, Phil was roped into attending as a way to keep the peace. Though if the look on Romanoff's face was any indication it wasn't going to be a boring night. She had been glued to her phone most of the day and given one word answers. At one point the smile had been downright feral and he reminded her that it was supposed to be a neutral party. He was almost afraid to ask her what she was getting him into.
Clint was questioning his life choices when he entered the SHIELD Soulmate Gala. Natasha had convinced him to attend and come in from being a mercenary. He'd been considering it for awhile but there'd never been a good time to make the change. Now was just as good a time as any and if it didn't work out, well, he could always disappear. So he went in his Ronin gear.

(June; Ryland and Dr Lokken are flown to remote Alaska to participate in preliminary engine testing using astrophage fuel; they spend two weeks in the wilderness, evading bears and trying not to get into shouting matches in front of everyone. Rasmussen installs the improved and approved o-rings. Ryland discovers that he misses falling asleep with Eva in his bed. The first round of testing is successful; the night he returns to the ship, he and Eva fuck three times and end up talking instead of sleeping, anyway. She tells him that she missed him. He thinks that he might love her.)
(In July they nuke Antarctica. It’s hard to top that one.)

It was a strange but not unheard-of thing to have one’s soulmarks on their fingertips.
The little black dots on each fingertip of his left hand could almost pass as non-protruding moles on a first glance, except the chances of having five identically sized moles on one hand were slim to none. His kids would ask about them, sometimes. They hadn’t the age nor maturity yet to understand the nuance behind soulmarks—their different ways of presenting, what they entailed, why Mr. Grace hadn’t found his person yet if he was so nice—but had loads of hypotheses around the topic. For Ryland, it was a bit of a touchy subject to teach.
So it was more than just a little disappointing when Director Stratt walked in his classroom that fateful fall afternoon and he felt the signature twinge that everyone describes, sudden and sharp and deep in his core the moment he laid eyes on her, sure that there would be something there when his gaze immediately dropped to her hands—only for them to be pale, porcelain, and bare. If she noticed the host of emotions that crossed his face over the span of their interaction, she didn’t comment. And that was that.
