And just like that, the telephone of the tree is no longer just for neighbors.
The telephone in Ayla's tree has always been a strange one.
People who live in her neighborhood come and use it to call their loved ones, loved ones who they can't see or hear or be with anymore. Ayla doesn't want to think about what that means for her, and for her own friend-- Kiri-- who went away.But one day, strangers begin coming to the tree, and something amazing happens.

Or not. Featuring okonomiyaki meet-ups, mahjong circles, and a small explosion or two.

"Kizaki-san let Jin drive," drawled Ikoma. "Backed right over him. Now he's only half the man he once was." He angled the cardboard cutout, directing Arashiyama's frozen gaze at Kageura.
