Nagi doesn’t answer right away. His gaze lingers on the girl’s retreating figure before it slides back to Reo, his expression still maddeningly calm. He shrugs, the movement causing his hand to press more firmly against Reo’s chest.
“She was wasting your time,” Nagi says, like it’s the simplest thing in the world.
Reo blinks, his heart stuttering in his chest. “It didn’t bother me,” he says softly, though his pulse betrays him.
Nagi tilts his head slightly, the corner of his mouth twitching into the barest hint of a frown.
“It bothered me.”

A broad back straightening as the elevator doors fully open. White hair flicking to the side as his head turns to look at them, dark eyes, an impassive face, and a deep voice that calls:
“Reo.”

Its time was frozen—perhaps broken. However, that wasn’t what caught her attention.
There was a photograph within it, a person eerily similar to her. Same hair length. Same facial features. Same smile.
There were engravings on the back of the artifact, dating back to five hundred years ago.

How could he possibly have let himself pretend otherwise. “Wasn’t expecting this, bud,” says Eddie, and he sounds so shocked that Buck can’t help a wry smile. Of course Eddie’s surprised. They must be the only two people in existence who didn’t already know. “I– Buck, man, you know that I care about you, but…”
“I know,” he says gently to Eddie, because he did know, but that doesn't make this moment hurt any less.

He was looking at Buck like a predator stalking its prey. Buck was blinking up at him through his lashes like he was happy to be hunted.
Somehow, he had convinced himself that it was him and his friendship that Buck was jealous over. That Buck was scared of losing him, and acting a little crazy about it.
He was used to Buck being a little crazy about things— so what?
It had never even crossed Eddie’s mind that he might be the obstacle Buck was trying to get rid of.

What if the still of Eddie watching Buck and Tommy's first date had actually made it to air? What if Eddie had witnessed their first date?
