After a mile, Izzy is feeling defeated. Lucius is feeling dead on his feet.
“We’re going to die here, Izzy, here in the…” He pants a little. “The middle of fucking nowhere. They’re gonna find our bodies in the morning.”
It’s late, it’s dark, and Izzy is certainly not in the mood to be cheerful, but this seems like a bit of an exaggeration. “We’re going to be just fine, Spriggs. Keep walking and save your fucking breath.”
“I can’t feel my feet and we’re not even halfway.”
“We’re halfway. Your sense of orientation is shit.”
He hears Lucius sneeze somewhere behind him. “Oh yeah,” He sniffles. “That’s because I’m gay.”
OR
Lucius gets stuck in the middle of fucking nowhere with his annoying coworker. Izzy thinks about the past. Until he's too busy to do so.

Soon Stede becomes a regular, and obviously he just likes going there because the cocktails are great.
