Free to restore himself to the timeline, the dark half of Solaris finds…the world well and truly has forgotten he ever existed and doesn't care, his continued existence is ever-unstable without the help of a human scientist, Soleanna is a tourist trap, Shadow is never going to bother to learn his name, Silver is a little too easy to manipulate still, rent’s not free, the Iblis-sized whole inside- well, next to- his soul is forever hollow, and while it's easy to convince a blank slate of a world you're the hero, the list of cons to maintaining that hustle is actually really annoying.
Oh, and he's not even the biggest fish (godlike being) in this pond (Earth and space and time and the whole of existence, are you kidding him) anymore.

This would've been nice, if not for the fact that our fellow Earthling woke up in the body of Metal Sonic, and has been abandoned by Eggman after failing to beat Sonic for who knows how many times. For now, our not-hero just needs to survive.
Too bad Sonic destroyed most of the equipment, but the scraps and remains will have to do.

Sonic the Hedgehog's life was far from boring, that's for sure. Unfortunately, he was suffering through one of those slow days between grand adventures. Tails seemed to be interested in something though: this strange signal he received from some abandoned facility barely connected to the EggNet. It wasn't an emerald, no, but something else messing with the ambient energy inside.
Huh. Well, that doesn't just happen outta nowhere.
To kill their boredom, Sonic and Tails decided to go and investigate the signal, expecting to find an abandoned project of sorts within that old base.
Well...they weren't wrong about what it was, but they weren't expecting it to be an actual living being hiding in the building's ventilation shafts where it wasn't supposed to be at all.
Nor was Sonic expecting to become an unwilling host to something that genuinely made him feel uneasy.
...Would it bad idea to ask how things could possibly get worse from here?

When the Black Comet and Black Doom are destroyed thanks to the collaborative efforts of Sonic and Shadow, it was believed that the threat of the Black Arms was over.
Unknown to them, the overlord had a hidden ally at the ready in case such an event would occur.
Now, thanks to the power of the Chaos Emeralds, Doom is brought back, and with said power, seeks vengeance and a means to make the planet Earth a new home for his new batch of stronger, more powerful Black Arms.
The clock is ticking,and it's up to Shadow, Sonic, and all of their allies once again, old and new, to put a stop to it.
On this journey, they must contend with more powerful foes, parasitic Death Leeches, the ever watchful eyes of GUN, and as Shadow comes to find out, himself!
Shadow must hurry, or not just the Earth, but he himself will lose himself to Black Doom in mind, body, and soul. Will he succeed? And even more, can he come to terms with who he was before and even more, can he admit and make peace with the horrid deeds and disasters he nearly perpetuated?
