Summary
This series starts the day after The Doctor Dances and shows the development of the OT3. The motto poem (see notes inside) was chosen because this series focuses on the difficult patches - disagreements, misunderstanding, arguments. But don't worry, it's not all dark and dreary - after all, arguments are a wonderful opportunity to make up afterwards.
While all of these stories are part of the same continuity, it is not necessary to read them in order - as long as you're willing to take it as a given that Nine, Rose and Jack are together in this 'verse, each story can pretty much stand on its own. There may occasionally be allusions to events from earlier stories, but never to the point of hampering understanding if you haven't read them.

In hindsight, it had probably been a terrible idea to ask a ghoul for sparring lessons and the unpleasantness of being thrown around like a rag-doll is to be expected, but the flex and pull of Kaneki's muscles and the little things that it does to the butterflies in Hide's stomach?
