She hadn’t even noticed that something was wrong. It was normal for him to disappear for days without reaching out; it was usually a flare-up or mental burnout. But this time it wasn’t. It wasn’t, and he’s gone now.

Till’s words echoed in his ears. Oh… so that’s what Till thought? He pressed his lips together and held his breath, still listening through the line. What followed only finished shattering his placebo-like heart.
“Luka knows which buttons to push,” Ivan added, his voice, usually his refuge, now sounding like a sentence. “He’ll play the victim until we forget why we were angry in the first place.”
He hung up. I’d rather disappear into this silence than be the cause of his contempt, even though it seems I already am.

The room was shrinking. He could feel it. Oboro looked up at the walls and watched as cracks started their way up the wall, breaking it and making it crumble. It was getting smaller, too hard to breathe in, and the roof was starting to collapse. He heard the cracking and watched as bits of the building fell all around him. His body was screaming at him, telling him to run, but he was frozen, unable to move a muscle. He screamed as the last chunk of roof fell on top of him and squeezed his eyes shut. A gentle hand landed on his shoulder, startling him. He looked up and his vision was filled with hair and skin and eyes. He knew those eyes.
