He walked purposefully—almost running—trying to convince himself it was for the best—and it was—but that didn't take away the tingling feeling he had. He was afraid, so afraid he just wanted to disappear and for his existence to be forgotten forever.
The voice in his head—which was himself—telling him to stop was too tempting at that moment. But as much as he wanted to turn back, he couldn't, he didn't want to. He was fed up, fed up with seeing supposed signs, fed up with getting his hopes up, fed up with waiting. He was fed up.
He turned toward the empty art room, though it wasn't truly empty, because he was there.
"Chrollo, I'm in love with you."

Shalnark is fed up with not knowing if his feelings are reciprocated, so as an act of self-love he decides to confess his feelings, hoping to at least have some closure or a boyfriend.
