Summary
Movement caught Aaron’s eye as he passed the village hall, and he stopped. The back door to Dale View opened, and a figure stepped into the night. An upstairs light gave Aaron just enough to see that it wasn’t one of Adam’s brother-cousins. As the stranger stepped away from the door, he reached under his jacket to fix his collar and smooth out his front.
Aaron happened to know that Ross was gone from the village at the moment, off fencing stolen goods most like. It seemed Finn had made use of the empty house for a hookup. Aaron scrutinized the stranger. He was a stranger, but he also looked eerily familiar. It took Aaron a minute to place it. The bloke’s baby pictures were all over the Woolpack’s back room. Aaron sat next to one while he had his brekkie. That was Robert Sugden.
