Despite the fact he’d said it plainly, Fray’s brows rose in surprise.
It sounded to her, like this man was willing to let her flock –and by extension, herself– remain within his lands while the ewes had their lambs, and while those lambs gained weight. But she could end up being here for months. At least another week needed to pass before the ewes would start giving birth, and then almost four more months for the lambs to gain enough weight to make the return journey north.
“I don’t want to be a problem,” Fray said slowly, “this is your home we’re intruding on.”
“Stay.”*
As a shepherdess, Fray is accustomed to roaming far and wide as she protects her flock from predators, and ensures their timely return to market. So despite finding herself facing down the largest bear she’s ever seen, Fray holds her ground, only to be utterly taken by surprise as that bear turns into… a man?

“Uh…” I’m at a loss for words, regretting every decision of my life that has led me to this moment.
“Yes. I see. This sexual arousal is a response to my words and presence?”
I don’t dare answer. I would rather eat glass than tell him the truth, but lying won’t work on him. He’s effectively a living lie detector.
His gaze sharpens, and he shifts closer to me, eyes never moving from my face. “Is that arousal a response to me? For me?”
I cannot get enough air. He’s figured it out, likely based solely on my physiological reactions and mannerisms.
With his amazing intelligence and knowledge of me, Ares had intuited my most closely-guarded secret; that I’m a weak meat-sack who can’t control her hormones.

A reworking of a fic I started writing when I was 15 years old.
I always thought it was possible that Bond had a few kids running around, given the amount of women he sleeps with.
Daniela is one of these imagined children.
As for setting, I imagined it as more modern, and Koskov and Whitaker are part of a larger criminal smuggling ring instead of the smiert spionem plot, and Bond has already been sent by MI6 to track down Koskov and Whitaker.
