A tumble, then WHAM!
A yelp tore through his throat and the interior of the SM-13 shattered into pieces. He’s swiftly ejected from the sub and tumbles out onto a hard surface. A flood of blood soon follows behind, spilling over him and soaking his already damp hair. But he wasn’t dead.
At least not yet.

When he looked up the sight hit him like a brick. Where the hell is the ocean? What just happened?
He was just on AT-5, not like it could have just disappeared! …Unless that’s exactly what happened. That creature, whatever the hell it was, both simultaneously saved his life and for all he knew dropped him into another Hell.

The familiar clunky sound of Rocky’s footsteps in his xenonite suit grow steadily nearer as he scuttles over. I must’ve alerted him with my griping and groaning. So much for not being a bother.
He stops near the foot of my bed.
“Rocky heard Grace make noise.”
“Sorry about that,” I say, voice muffled.
“No apology, Grace.” He scolds, “Am worried, not bothered. What is wrong, question?”
“My tummy hurts.” I say matter-of-factly into my pillow, “And I’m being a big baby about it.”

Grace hasn’t had someone to take care of him when he’s sick in a long, long while. Having forgotten that he’s lactose intolerant, he’s now battling an upset stomach, which Rocky is determined to soothe. Grace finds that Rocky’s help may be exactly what he needed.
