After a rabies exposure, the virus must travel to the brain before it can cause symptoms. Therefore, the incubation period may last for weeks to months depending on several factors such as location of the exposure site (in relation to the brain) and age; in extremely rare cases it could be dormant for years.
Rumi thinks about this one frequently, lying in bed at night; the idea that you could be wasting away at any moment in your life. A poison in your veins with you none the wiser– like a ticking bomb just waiting to go off.
You would need to get bit or scratched first, of course, and if you took the right precautions you would likely never know. And Rumi has never been bitten anyway. She’s fine.

Izuku's life is going amazingly well, with his Twitch channel where he streams himself playing video games and discussing the nerdiest things imaginable hitting 3 million followers, his best friend as his roommate, and his other close friends as tight-knit as they've been since high school. The only possible road bump is his viewer's continuous demands to know who "Kacchan" is - thanks to Katsuki often coming into his room during streams and Izuku's repeated attempts to pull him into video game competitions - and, more importantly, if they're dating. Which is crazy.

Summary
Kaeya has made many bad decisions in his lifetime – choosing the night Diluc’s father died to come clean, returning a library book two days late, running off on solo missions without telling Jean. This is, by all accounts, another one of those bad decisions and he shouldn’t do it.
In which Klee tasks Kaeya to make the weird grownup who runs the winery smile, and against his better judgement, he says yes.

Summary
He stared at the dancing flame of the dying candle before him. It reminds him of Diluc; warm and bright. The sounds of footsteps approaching echoed off the walls and he shifted, curling in on himself to appear smaller. He wished he could disappear. He wanted it all to end. He didn't care anymore. He's tired of waiting.
“The will of men is like the flame of a candle. If you don't keep it safe, the wind will extinguish it,” said the Doctor as he gazed at him. He grinned in glee at the dull look in the teenager's eyes. No longer defiant. No longer hopeful. Just a broken empty shell remained. Wonderful. He won. He put out the flame with his fingers.

**Years before the events in "There was nothing", Kaeya had met Corvis who brought him to the Doctor. This encounter leads to pain and torture that scars and changed him.**
