Jason knows Dick is different.
Which is why Jason is sitting next to a gargoyle, looking over Gotham’s smoggy streets and watching the people mill about their days, and flipping his phone in his hand. He’s considering, is all. Trying to figure out what to say. Should he open with a confirmation code? With a joke? With a simple ‘hey’?
There’s a chance that Dick won’t pick up at all, really. Jason’s burner is an entirely new number. It’s technically a New York area code, too, because no one likes to fly into Gotham on account of all the smog and Rogue attacks (not like Jason can blame them. Can you imagine how much of a fucking hassle it’d be to try and keep a whole commercial airline full of civillians safe? Not to mention that the Rogues would take ruthless advantage of a sealed location. Bleh.), so it’ll be extra unfamiliar. Dick might think he’s a spam caller.
OR:
Dick said Jason could always call him.

“Satoru?” The word rings, fuzzy in his ears as it whines like tinnitus, familiar and heart stopping.
‘I’m dead.’ He can’t even hear his own thoughts over the loudness of the world, staggering where he stands, eyes still fixated on the sky, on the sun. ‘I’m dead, I died, I felt my heart stop, this can’t be, it can’t-’
“Hey,” it comes again, a little more urgent than before, a little closer, another hammer to his ears and all the noise shrieking behind his eyes. He recoils hard enough to go stumbling as a hand reaches for him, covered in flesh rather than empty bone, tan and recognizable. Unbelievable.
There’s something wet trickling from his nose. Bile stings on the back of his tongue. The words dissolve into the rest of the white noise as he stares up at the blue of the sky, and tries to remember if he’d ever had a hallucination as bright as this.
‘I have to be dead,’ he thinks. Somehow, he isn’t.
Or: Gojo Satoru goes back in time. He makes a couple of changes for the better.

Luffy spent most of the afternoon in one of Zoro’s open shirts and a pair of shorts that definitely belonged to Sanji. The shirt kept slipping off one shoulder, revealing the faint mark at the junction of neck and collar where an alpha’s teeth had once sunk deep enough to seal a life.
It was visible. Entirely visible.
Not glaringly, perhaps. Zoro’s bond mark on one side had faded into the warm tone of Luffy’s skin, and Sanji’s on the other tucked more often beneath hair or collar. But when the wind shifted Luffy’s hair aside, anyone with eyes could see them both.

“Hold on,” Usopp said, voice climbing. He pointed a trembling finger at Zoro and Sanji. “Hold on! You mean to tell me the two of you have been openly mated to our captain this entire time, and you never thought to mention it?”
Sanji’s eye twitched. “Mention what?”

Zoro stared at them for a long beat, then said, slowly and with terrible sincerity, “We thought,” as if he were speaking to children or people concussed by coconuts, “that you were all capable of eyesight.”

He had always thought that was probably how the after life started: death walking away, and your one way only chauffeur coming to pick you up.
After his death at the hands of Caligula, the Fates decide that Jason isn't quite done. Instead of the Underworld, Jason is sent to a different universe-one where the gods died a long time ago, and Ancient Greek monsters are a new, unstoppable threat. Voldemort is living in the Malfoy Manor, and Draco does his best to simply hide in his room. Unfortunately, he can't hide forever and his father tells him that he will be taking the dark mark before school starts for fifth year and he will be expected to complete tasks for the Dark Lord. His parents can't protect him from this, much as they wish they could.
Draco had to decide between a possible lifetime of servitude and torture, like what his parents were going through, or he could renounce his name, run away, and replace everything he owned, hoping and praying that the Dark Lord didn't send anyone after him.

They’ve somehow all made it through their harrowing fifth year. Sirius is alive and Regulus and Draco are safe from harm’s way for the time being. They were able to escape becoming Death Eaters, Regulus escaping that fate in his second life this time, but their decision will bring consequences for others. At least they have each other, their friends, and Sirius.
It is hard to have a normal year when another wizarding war has begun. Terror is on the rise again, and something has to be done about the Horcruxes. Regulus won’t fail again to destroy them. He can’t afford to. But first, he must wage a war between Regulus from the past, who wishes to destroy all Horcruxes, and the Regulus from the present, who is friends with Harry Potter.
Surely nothing bad will happen this year, despite all the odds stacked against them.
