And Scar can tell she says it on purpose, he can see the smugness in the way her lips tilt up, he can see the satisfaction in her eyes. She knows she had him trapped before she even spoke.
He decides, quite easily, that if he is willing to do this for Grian, then he is also willing to do this for Pearl.
Or, Scar finds himself wrapped up in centuries-old customs that are much larger than himself. No one is surprised when he stumbles into love.

Lizzie worked in a shop. In this shop, she worked mostly alone. And she was miserable. Her boss sucked, her co-workers gossiped about her, and overall her life wasn't great. Her brother was there, but he had his own life too.
Things might just change when two people are violently thrown into her life, though: Life City's most wanted villain, Smallish, and very tiny worker Asher, who is an entire mystery on their own.
Will Lizzie manage to conquer the obstacles and find herself? Or shall she fall into the shadows that have long haunted her name?
