Summary
The low light of late afternoon spills across the cozy living room through the gauzy curtains half covering the windows along the front of Mink’s cabin. The dark, inky blue-black of Koujaku’s hair catches the light and it’s such a strange display of trust, to watch Mink’s work hardened fingers delicately card through it. Koujaku is at his feet, and they’re talking, Mink is laughing, as much as he ever laughs. A soft, nasal sound paired with a close-mouthed smile so small you’d miss it if you didn’t watch for it. Aoba, for the life of him, can’t really hear what’s being said. Watching them together, these two men who somehow both found their way to him (or was it the other way around) gives Aoba a profound sense of completeness, but also… Envy.
