“What are you doing?” Charlie whispered.

Alastor grinned. “Why, we’re engaging in the only civilized entertainment to be found in this rinky-dink hotel: making deals, of course.”

    That caught Charlie’s attention.

But Husk was waving off her horrified protest before it even left her mouth. “I’m a gambling addict who’s already sold my soul to the bastard. What have I got to lose?”

    Summary

When Alastor dies in 1933, he expects Hell.
What he does not expect is to wake in the in-between, face to face with Michael, the prince of Heaven, and be offered a bargain. All in exchange of protecting one Lucifer Morningstar, no less!
    Alastor agrees for practical reasons.
Then everything becomes inconvenient because what begins as a mission becomes something far messier as Alastor is drawn into the world of these two angels. There are too many feelings involved and that's certainly not what he bargained for!

    Summary

It is frightening to look at the person you love and not know their face; to not know their name. There’s a quiet fear in knowing you’re at home, but having no clue how to navigate it or where anything is.

Alastor, however, is not one to endure such emotions. With a hotel to upkeep, a princess to advise, a looming deal, and a somehow steady relationship with the King of Hell to juggle, Alastor doesn’t have time to question why his brain keeps drawing blanks. Yet, as the issue persists, he begins to worry how long he can bear the confusion that now comes with everyday life.

Tension grows between him and Lucifer as Alastor fights to keep his brain in check. Each time his memory fails, Alastor starts to wonder if his mind will ever stop playing games — or if Lucifer will lose patience and end everything first.

It unsettles him to realize that, despite everything, the thought of losing Lucifer frightens him the most.

    Summary

It’s hardly any secret that Hell is full of Sinners. Nor is it unexpected that the Radio Demon is not the only serial killer among its population.

But it does create something of a problem when Alastor’s business associates happen to be precisely the type of target for one such infamous Sinner. Alastor isn’t sure what irritates him more: a rival muscling into his territory, or Charlie’s reckless optimism that ruthless murderers can be saved.

At least one will certainly be the second death of him.

    Summary

After pushing Lucifer’s buttons, Alastor is condemned to an inescapable eternity of solitude. Powerless, he’s forced to confront a far greater threat than death: the slow erosion of his own mind. In the end, the question is not whether he’ll escape, but whether anything of him will be left to save.
