So, Poseidon would admit he was lost.
Odysseus had tricked him. Again. Despite the way the man had been all but trapped in Poseidon’s domain, Athena’s precious ‘Warrior of the Mind’ had not yet run out of luck and Poseidon was suffering for it. The coward refused to extend proper mercy, didn’t stand like a hero, and now used trickery to run from an honorable death. False righteousness, not even finishing the job.
Yet Poseidon had chased him down, following him into the cave Odysseus’s ship had sailed into. Or, the cave he thought Odysseus’s ship had sailed into.
He wasn’t sure anymore. This was most certainly not Greece anymore.

EPIC: The Musical's Poseidon lands in the PJO verse and decides that if the local Poseidon is not going to raise his son, then he's going to do it. Percy is just happy to have a dad that wants to take him to drown ferries of tourists.

Summary
Jonathan Sims, the Archivist, debated and despised. Daisy Tonner, doomed and buried and nearly bursting at the seams with little violences. They're an odd pair, which is another reason why it works. The rest of the Institute suspects nothing; Jon and Daisy like it that way. If anyone else found anything out, they'd probably assume it was all just sex. The truth is, it's almost never sex. Jon and Daisy have an arrangement that works. In fact, it works pretty damn well.

When you agree, it is fun, at first.
You close your eyes to protect them from the rushing wind. When you open them again, the ground is gone. There is no down. There is only sky, and you are falling. Beside you he laughs, bright and joyous and childlike, though it can hardly be heard over your screams. His arrows are pointed up, wherever that is.
As he cannonballs past you for the 3rd, 8th, 19th, 76th time he says that ‘fear is what makes it fun’. His ‘woops’ cover your sobs.

That BAMF Grian tag is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, so if an absurdly cracked protag is not your vibe, this probably isn't your jam. If that is your kind of protag, then welcome to the Kept Bird AU! What you need to know for this series is that Scar is an Emperor, and Grian is his concubine/plaything // head strategist // assassin. At court Grian is the head-empty sex toy that's just sitting pretty at Scar's feet (brain sharp and cataloging all the people that petition his emperor), in private he's Scar's lover and his chief strategist (nobody besides Scar ever sees the imperial chief strategist - wonder why), and at night he's known as the Angel of Death for how silently and precisely he strikes (all at Scar's whim of course).

You still bleed.” And he puts his heart into it, leaning slightly towards the Archivist with one fist balled over his sternum, and it feels important, but Jon doesn’t quite follow and he’s too afraid to ask. Here, between knowledge and death, there is too much that should remain unsaid.
If it's fear that reduces men to beasts, what makes a man?
Jon is the Archivist, and all that entails. He also remembers that, once, he was human.

Summary
Martin, his back to the door, feels more than hears Jon arrive in the room. The hum from his chest is frenetic and furious like a swarm of bees. Martin turns to look at him with a soft purr of hello gorgeous.
“Hmmph,” Jon says, arms crossed tight over his scrawny chest. He looks angry and wound-up and slightly unkempt. Martin loves him, madly.
“Rough day?” look at me, I am warm and very soft, I will make it all better, love, I will make you feel so good.
“Don’t want to talk about it,” Jon snaps. SHARP I am sharp and SPIKY I am a SNAKE I am a PORCUPINE I will BITE you
“Mmm, all right,” Martin says, and pulls the handcuffs from behind his back.
Jon’s knees nearly buckle, right in front of Martin’s eyes. He grabs the edge of the doorframe, holding himself upright with a thrumming moan of please please please yes please I’ll do anything.
In an ~unspecified~ happy-ending-nobody-dies setting, the biggest problem Martin has is taking care of his stressed-out boyfriend. It works out well for everyone.

Then, one morning, when Martin wakes up feeling, uh, tender, in the chest area, with mysterious dots of wetness on the front of his sleep shirt, right on top of his nipples, he finally relents. He grabs his phone and starts doing some serious googling.
And then he wants to scream, because there is, in fact, a word for what he is currently experiencing. And it’s a word he really dislikes, because it makes him feel like the worst sort of type O stereotype, melodramatic and histrionic and manipulative. And apparently there's nothing to do but wait it out, because, while there are suppressants for heat, and abortions for actual pregnancy, there is no medical treatment for a hysterical pregnancy.

There is something hunting him. Martin knows in his bones and in that rising anger, in the eyes that peer through him and the claws that tangle in the silk he's woven around himself. He doesn't particularly mind one way or the other though.
At least, he doesn't until he's sprinting through street after street, with a boy that looks just younger than him on his heels, all thin, jagged edges and sharp eyes.
