Summary
It's a miracle, really.
Dexter Erotoph, originally believed to be deceased, suddenly came back to life on the morgue table. They seemed completely fine, save for having total memory loss and sudden muteness, unable to communicate anything with anyone. The hospital, after deeming them fine, calls their mother (excluding the part of their death), who arrives in a panic and takes Dexter back home.
Slowly, they seem to regain more and more of themself, being able to function completely. They continue their life, living happily with their mother and doing their job...
That is, until the actual Dexter comes back.
And he is not happy with the person who is now inhabiting his body.

Summary
Every year, six children go missing in the town of Hollow's Eve. No one knows why or who, and the adults have grown so numb to the repeated losses that they now turn a blind eye to them. Everyone lives in fear of their loved ones going missing, yet are too scared of the consequences to do anything about it.
Enter 16-year-old Kevin Barrow. After an incident in his hometown, his parents decided to ship him off to his Uncle Jack for the summer, claiming that it would be good for him to 'stretch his legs and explore the world'. He expects that it will be a normal, boring summer - He has no idea that he's about to be thrust head-first into an adventure that might make or break him and decide the fate of the lives of the thousand people living in town.
