The smirk disappears from Shinsou’s face.
“You what?”
God, is this fucker deaf or something? “I like you,” he grits out, annoyed that he has to drag this out any further. How many times does he need to say it? Once should be enough, dammit.
“You like me,” Shinsou says slowly, letting the words sink in. His eyes trail over Bakugou's figure.
In one sudden motion, he shifts away from the doorframe. There’s not much space separating them now, but like hell is Bakugou going to back off to give him more room.
“Prove it,” Shinsou says.

It just kind of bugs Archer. Beau is so casual with it, too. “Hurry up, princess,” when Archer was taking too long to set up his add-ons for their next battle. “Let’s do that, princess,” when Archer suggested a strategy for a battle or a mission. Or even, “Missed me, princess?” when Archer commented that it had been a while since they’d done a proper session together.
Maybe Beau is just a ridiculous person who calls his friends random shit all the time. Archer wouldn’t mind that, but the part that he does mind, is that he likes being called ‘princess’. He actually enjoys it. It makes him feel warm and cared for, which is fucking ridiculous, because Beau is just his buddy who he plays an online roleplaying game with.

When the recoil of his gauntlets starts popping his stitches, each scar will scream like hellfire the next day. If word comes that the sergeants aren't circulating barracks that night — which they rarely do anymore, as the pool of soldiers shrinks and each scrap of flesh is needed for far bigger tasks than dorm checks — then Katsuki can reliably sneak out to the weapons lab to make a few unauthorized suit modifications… and steal a few unauthorized glances at the only other asshole in there before dawn, jerry-rigging new tricks into his own tech and undoing the latest military software that forces his blasters to shoot fire alongside the ice.
(Bakugou and Todoroki are just cybernetically-modified warm bodies, food for the war that never sleeps. They carve out space for each other when nowhere else will. Even if it means asking Todoroki for help when one too many battles leave Bakugou's hearing destroyed.)
