Summary
When Kaveh discovers that Alhaitham has been reading a book about human sexuality and kinks, he generously offers to assist Alhaitham with some sexual exploration. It’s a risky proposal, and one that could end very badly—thanks to their falling-out years ago, the two of them have trust issues galore.
But it turns out that Kaveh and Alhaitham are surprisingly good at trust and communication when it comes to sex…which raises some questions about the nature of their relationship, and where exactly this whole experiment is leading them.
“Look,” Kaveh says, “if you’re going to approach sexual pleasure like an experiment, most potential partners won’t take too kindly to the idea of you having sex with them for science. Their faces hovered only a few finger lengths away from each other, and Rei could smell the scent of beer wafting off of Kazuki and over to him. It's not a very pleasant smell, though it doesn’t deter him for whatever reason, and their faces stay lingering dangerously close to one another.
“You smell like beer.” Despite a swelling feeling of something akin to anxiety rising in Rei’s chest, he tries to keep his cool appearance. This feeling wasn’t exactly anxiety; he didn’t feel afraid, but rather like he was anticipating something. He could feel his muscles begin to tense and shake as if he were waiting for something to hit him, but he didn’t feel the looming sense of dread or danger that usually accompanied those involuntary reactions.
