If they don't get out of this cold, they're all going to die, so Shelby does something that has just failed her twice:
They close their eyes and pray, desperate and rabbit-quick, get us back safe and sound.
Somewhere far off, her eyes catch a pinprick of light, and she stops to squint at the new visual. Her companions pause with them, curious, and Pyro's protests die when he catches sight of the source.
A figure stands on a hill, arm raised high, a lantern swinging in their grasp.

“I want you to experiment on me,” Ash said. “Haiper is dying from radiation, but for some reason, I’m immune.”
“Radiation isn’t like regular diseases,” Tubbo said. “There’s no biological immunity.”
“And yet, somehow, I’m the exception.” Ash spread his arms. “If we can find out why, we can create a cure, and then Multi will be done.”
It was a solid plan on the surface. Destroy the radiation, destroy Multi’s leverage.
But that was where Tubbo was wrong. No plan survives first contact.

Ash asks Tubbo to help him create a cure, using his own immunity as the model. As the process begins to unearth memories that should have remained buried, Tubbo struggles under the weight of his leader's trust.
He won't ever be able to look at Ash in the same way again.

Summary
"You're turning soft. You can't show weakness." Ewron's words echo loudly in his head and still sting even long after they've gone their ways. He's a leader, of course he isn't supposed to show weakness and he isn't supposed to be soft with his reputation, but regardless, it oozes out of him, his code betraying him for such fickle things like his so called family.
But he was raised like this— it's what he remembers growing up with, the warmth of a family surrounding him, overlapping voices that sought to comfort and even with so many faces and voices, it doesn't overwhelm him one little bit. Maybe that's why he's so attached to the Regime as a whole.
