from that point forward, parrot begins noticing strange things happening around him, whether its a wither rose here, an instinctive feeling of being watched there, could this be the work of cindercrest...or something else?

This is supposed to be Parrot's last reaping.
He knows it the way the sun will come up tomorrow. It's solid, dependable knowledge that you needn't worry about unless something goes horribly wrong. And yes, things in the mafia go wrong all the time, but Parrot is somehow still alive, which means the odds don't hate him as much as they could.
His name is ringing out across the town square one last time. Just his luck, he might be the only person in history to be reaped twice. And now there's nobody left to save him who hasn't already tried. Theo, just a small levee to Parrot's fate.
Maybe he can give Ash a good fuck you in person before he goes out.

Parrot is, after all, part of the avian family. His wings need to be preened thoroughly before he takes flight. A bird's wings is their pride. Anyone would know that. But Parrot can't reach the back of his feathers and it's starting to irritate him. Fortunately or..unfortunately for him, Wifies notices. That's all I'm gonna say.
