Summary
Shane pulled him close to his body, allowing himself to be pressed into the mattress with the weight of Ilya on top of him, like sinking under a weighted blanket. He held his head, running his fingers through his curls and making soothing noises to calm himself down as much as Ilya. He wanted to cocoon the pair of them together, he wanted them to melt into one body and soul and stay like it forever.
Shane had never felt so free.

Set after episode 2.
Ilya goes to Montreal for work (he tells himself) and finds Shane at a gay bar, dragged there by his oblivious friends.

“Hollander,” Ilya said as low as he could. “How much have you had to drink?”
“Probly… too much.”
“And you do not want to come out publicly as gay, yes?”
Drunkenly, Shane wiggled his head from right to left.
“Y-yes—I mean, yes that—no, I don’t want—” His shoulders slumped forward, and Ilya’s heart shot into his throat as he glanced around. “I—I’m not ready yet.”
“Brilliant of your fucking buddies to take you to a gay club then, yes?”
“They don’t know, asshole.”
OR
“Goodbye, Rozanov,” Shane said, unlocking his door with the code and slipping inside.
It was too hard to find the right English words for: Please let me in, because I can’t stay away from you. I’m a fucking asshole, like you say, and I came here to see you, to make sure you were okay, and I’m not done. I’m not done with you, so please, for fuck’s sake, let me in.
So Ilya took the easier route.“Goodnight, Hollander.”

Summary
He might regret it in the morning, the vulnerability he was showing. Something about the series of events made it seem okay, like it was safe on the phone line. There was just something about Shane, the way he made Ilya want to overstay his welcome when it came to him. If he had over stepped, well that would have to be a problem for tomorrow’s Ilya.
