After returning home a few weeks after the experiment that killed his former best friend and cost him his powers, Gomez's life took another sharp turn when he found the animated hand he'd kept connected to a seemingly regenerated Isaac Night, whole, healthy, and completely unaware of his past life. 30 years later, the new Isaac, mute and still physically 17 years old, is enrolled at Nevermore Academy alongside Wednesday in order to both keep an eye on her for her parents, as well as finally finish the education he was supposedly denied so many years ago.
