“Is it okay if I touch you?” the man breathes.
Simon doesn't know why he asks. No, it's not okay. None of this is okay.
“Please,” he continues when Simon doesn't respond. “I-I need permission.”
Simon closes his eyes. It's his own type of silent defiance. If this man isn't just fucking with him – if he does, for some strange reason, feel bad or guilty about capturing him, then good. Let him drown in it.
Simon is captured by a compulsive liar who, bafflingly, gives him food, smiles at him, and pretends the Quiet Rapture never happened.
Grace saves the life of a violent human who seems to be under the terrifying delusion that every star and planet has disappeared without a trace.

"Well, here we are." Sirius pushed open the door with a grand sweep of his arms. “Home sweet Hell.”
Sirius had bad memories of Grimmauld Place, tainted by his own less than stellar family. But for Harry, whose summers had previously involved being locked away either in a cupboard or Dudley's second room--with bars on the windows, no less--it was perfect.

With Sirius free from Azkaban and taking up his role as Harry's guardian, Voldemort pursuing a political path to power rather than bloodshed, and a defense teacher that isn't actively trying to kill him for once, Harry has high hopes for his third year at Hogwarts. It'll be nice to sit back and be a kid for once.Only Harry's life is never so simple, and he soon finds himself facing a myriad of new challenges: school bullies and new family dynamics, horcruxes all but falling into his lap, his deja-vu brain giving him mixed signals, and hidden murmurs arising from old Death Eater circles that may pose a threat to him regardless of his tentative alliance with Voldemort. "Iz huhg," Grace sniffled out, sucking back in moisture from his noze, too. There was moisture and water and everything all over the place. "Huhg meens grayt, grayt, grayt affekshun."
"Oh," he said tentatively. Another hewmin thing! He shuffled closest to the wall Grace was huhging and leaned in. "Oh. Am I doing correctly, hmm?"
"Yis," Grace sighed out, calming down. He still leaked, though.
Oh, well. Leaky hewmins were his favorite, after all.
