Rumi knew she’d been standing on the sidewalk staring at the doorway long enough for it to be creepy, but she couldn’t help it.
It wasn’t that the doorway in question was itself daunting or anything; it was just a typical glass door, for a business that sat tucked away on a side street on the outskirts of Seoul. It was even sitting on the sunny side of the street as the day gently rolled over from morning to noontime, making the small chalkboard ‘welcome’ sign hanging inside it gleam all the brighter.
No, the part that was giving Rumi pause was what laid beyond the door. And the potential it had to change...everything.

"They moved." She looks at Catra’s belly with what can only be adoration. Adora can almost imagine the little one in there. "You're already so talented, aren't you?" Adora loves this baby more than she ever thought she’d love anyone except for Catra. She can’t wait to meet them.
Catra’s hand grazes the side of Adora’s head, and it makes her shiver. "Adora, they are supposed to be moving by now."
She shakes her head, nuzzling Catra’s belly. "Shhh, positive reinforcement is important." Her hand rests on the spot the baby bumped, hoping for another. "Besides, they gave me their first high five. I'm obviously their favorite aunt. Scorpia can eat my dust."
"Well, you're the aunt they are living with, so you sure have an advantage."
"Damn right, I have the advantage." It’s an odd place to be. She’s painfully aware of the fact that this baby is just Catra’s—it doesn’t help Adora feel any less attached. She’s not sure that she’s able to hold back and she isn’t willing to try. "And I'm going to press it."
