Summary
John Marston was supposed to be scouting for the gang in that horrible blizzard. Instead he falls asleep on the edge of a cliff in the Grizzlies, looking into the glittering snow upon the mountain ranges and nursing a flask full of booze. When he wakes up, the world is much warmer. At his side is the rotting corpse of his horse and a pile of wolves sleeping soundly. Just how long has he been asleep for? Where is the gang?

Now he journeys to Valmar, the dwelling place of the Valar, to gain entrance into Mahal's halls, to confess to Gimli his love and to be with him until the last war and beyond.

While investigating an attack on a Gondorian settlement, Boromir finds himself run through with a sword and tossed into a nearby river. When death seems dangerously near, Boromir’s body washes up to shore, tangled in a fishing net. A young woman living alone finds Boromir and brings him home to care for him. As Boromir physically heals, he finds that his heart is also missing something important.

Summary
Patterns and echoes of what she knew was supposed to happen - she could see them everywhere. She was what was wrong in the picture, the thing that shifted everything and caused devastating changes, and yet even then the weave of history showed a similar image to what she had expected.
Being reincarnated into the body of an Elf, growing up in Rivendell, it had always sounded like a dream to her. It was both a dream and a nightmare. Love and grief were inseperable for her, even when she was surrounded by people who were supposed to be immortal. The future loomed menacingly ahead, promising war, love, and even more loss.
