Summary
“Hey, baby. Long day?” Dennis asks, leaning over to kiss his cheek.
“Mhm,” Andrew hums rather than try to give a full answer.
“That bad, huh?” Dennis flicks the radio on. “Let's get you home.”
The drive is quiet other than Dennis’ music. Andrew would rather be curled up in his lap, but he knows better. He stays on his side of the car for the drive. Once they make it through his door, he lets himself hug Dennis around the waist, crowding him back against the door before it's even all the way closed.

Summary
“How was work?” Dennis turns to look at him through the glass, hoping the heat covers his blushing. Andrew didn’t bother closing the door behind him.
“Done better jobs,” Andrew answers. His eyes drag down Dennis’ body.
“You coming in?” Dennis asks when the staring starts getting to be too much.
“I like looking at you.” Andrew shrugs, but drops his pants and boxers to the floor. He steps into the shower behind Dennis, hugging around his waist.
Dennis reaches over his shoulder to scratch gently through Andrew's hair. “Missed you.”

Summary
Dennis is just trying to catch his breath in the ambulance bay. They're caught up on the morning nursing home rush as much as they can be and it's only about noon. For a half second, he thinks Dr. Abbott is stumbling towards him, covered in blood. He only notices when he's nearly in front of Abbott’s doppelganger that he's wearing shorts and there's a flesh and bone leg where his prosthetic should be.
“Hey, you look like you could use some help,” Dennis says, reaching out to offer his arm but not touching him. “I'm Dr. Whitaker.”

“Hiding?” She asks, a gentle smile on her lips. “It's okay, me too. My shift is way over, but I gotta chart and nobody checks in here if the lights are off.”
“I'll leave you to it.” Brendon nods and moves to leave.
“Wait,” she calls, startling him enough to keep him in the room. “You don't have to go? We can hide together. I’m Emma.”
“Alright, Emma.” He leans against the desk next to her rather than sit down. She smiles up at him, shifting just slightly closer before going back to her charting.

“What, um,” she swallows and pushes her braid back over her shoulder with her other hand, “what are you doing?” Her voice wavers, and she hates that he might hear it. Hates that he might be able to read her mind—she’s never been good at hiding her emotions, they’re always painted plainly on her face.
“One, I need to hold onto something,” he explains, leaving no room for questions, “and two, I don’t want you to jump away from me while you help.”
“Help?” Emma slowly raises her eyes to meet his.
“Yes, help,” he says flatly, blue eyes boring into hers so intensely she’s sure he can tell what she’s thinking. “I can’t suture with one hand. I need you to be the other one.”
“I–I’m not sure I’m the best person for this,” she glances over her shoulder, looking to signal Donnie or someone who’s actually good at sutures. Her brain scrambles for an out, something to ground herself, to slow this down. “I’ve barely been here a month and—”
“And I’ve been doing this for twenty years, so you’ll be safe with me.”
