“You two need to get a grip,” Aurora said with a sigh, pinching the bridge of her nose. “At this rate, Professor Handsome over there is going to be having babies with Severus by year’s end.”
Both Bruce and Sirius snapped their heads up at once. Across the room sat Severus, deep in conversation with the new professor. The man was murmuring something in Severus’s ear—something that made Severus blush and, even more astonishingly, smile.

It’s a pity that Sirius thinks him most beautiful like this, when his eyes are hard and burning, and his lips are drawn into a thin line to hold the curses on his tongue. Severus' chest rises and falls in shallow breaths underneath the shimmering nightgown. Perhaps, someday, someone will see him when he is whole, and think him beautiful; but for now, while Severus is still falling apart, there is at least Sirius to bathe in the glory of it.

Summary
Sirius Black had a habit of breaking rules. A simple hint of an attempt to control him provoked him to action. But even the most avid of troublemakers was guided by principles. Under no circumstances did Sirius allow himself to stop taking suppressants, to shag an Omega or to get close enough to one to become affected. These were the three pillars of his common sense, the only rules he could not break.
Severus Snape, on the other hand, had lots of rules. He adored them, catalogued each one in his confused mind, trying desperately to distract himself from the rest of his life, so fragile and uncontrollable. He wasn’t allowed to look back, to doubt his choices, to look for alternative solutions. And, most of all, he was to avoid remembering, digging in his past, and dreaming about the future. He knew exactly what he wasn’t supposed to do and it was all that kept his world from crumbling.
Sadly for the both of them, life rarely goes according to plan. Sometimes, a fair scent drives people to crazy deeds. Sometimes, you try to drown a man and fail miserably. Sometimes, it leads to the shared detention and reconsidering of all the bloody rules.
