When Mr. Bennet passes away the family hopes rest on Jane. Elizabeth introduces her sister to eligible men by using her as a chaperone when she is commissioned to paint at grand estates.
Meanwhile, after a disastrous season in London, Georgiana retreats to Pemberley determined to think of nothing but music until the day she dies. Anne dreads her upcoming marriage to Darcy and cannot even be in the same room as him. Lady Catherine de Bourgh begins a ruthless campaign to bring her niece back into the social fray, and her daughter into Darcy's life. Her first step is to have Georgiana’s portrait painted, to be displayed at Rosings Park. Elizabeth is unwittingly brought into the centre of Georgiana and Anne’s plans for freedom.
