Jayce thrashes in his sheets, sweaty and frustrated. The tab is still right there in his history, a couple easy taps away.
It’s kind of like meditation, he rationalizes.
The guided ones from those woowoo YouTube channels never do anything for him, but this gives him a blessed reprieve in a way no medication or breathing exercise or mantra ever has. It could be categorized as mental self care, even.
Jayce groans. He would be stupid to believe that. Stomach churning with guilt, he unlocks his phone and easily navigates to the tab anyways. One of his favorites is already pulled up on Master V’s profile.
Jayce finds an unexpected connection to his new coworker.

Now, they both knew each other’s feelings for the other, and for a moment, Viktor felt.. Out of control, thrown off. His feelings had always been something he could hide or show, not something anyone would ever know.
Jayce was the opposite. Always with his heart on his sleeve, even at his worst.
So, when he had brought up this idea, Viktor had known he was so excited. His shoulders had been shimmying around, and his foot had been dragging around the dirt. A chuckle left his lips, reaching up to gently brush over his beard, his grin full of mirth.

A sigil glows dimly on the wall to his left. Its lines pulse faintly with a pink-tinged light, runes and lines overlapping to create an intricate pattern.
Is it a trap? Or something else?
A portal to the next level, maybe?
Curiosity gets the better of him. He inches forward carefully, leaning in to study the design. He reaches out to trace his fingers across it—
The stone disappears beneath his hand, and Jayce falls forward with a yelp. The bouncy ground offers no help; when he tries to right himself, he only manages to lose his balance completely and tumble ahead.
He doesn't find himself on the ground however. He's caught mid-air— something clamps around his torso, halting his fall. His status screen lights up without prompting.
【Debuff: Wall stuck trap. You've triggered a hidden trap!】
【You are now 【IMMOBILISED】: unable to move or escape until the effect wears off.】
"Oh, come on!"
