The first step to breaking the cycle of abuse is to acknowledge the magnitude of how that abuse has impacted you. After that, it’s the not-so-simple matter of learning how to heal yourself, and learning how to accept people into your life.
Because people, no matter where they come from, or what they have done, or what they have gone through, deserve the chance to better themselves.
However, at the end of the world, allowing others into your life becomes a precarious balancing point of life or death.

Summary

But when the plane to nationals goes down in the middle of nowhere with no hope of rescue anytime soon, Misty is forced to assume the role of pseudo- nurse and background leader. She tells herself it’s all for the team, but her main concern is Jackie.
Jackie Taylor is going to snap. She’s spent her whole life pushing her feelings down and coping with her obsessive mind. Jackie always wanted a way out, but a plane crash wasn’t what she wished for. As team captain, of course, she was chosen as a leader, until better leaders step up and Jackie is replaced and left with nothing. Expect for Misty.
