Dream’s skin lit up at the mere mention of praise. He was so torn, conflicted as to whether he wanted to keep acting up so George would leave more cherry red marks on his skin or to behave, sit pretty for his boy so that he could finally get the praise he’d long sought after. Unbeknownst to Dream, he’d fallen silent in his moment of deliberation. That alone was enough to provide George with the answer he'd been looking for.

***Dream hated not to be able to do anything about their situation. He had always been able to find a way, a loophole, something. But not this time, he supposed. And that reminder stung him every single time he was on call with George. Every late night they spent sleeping with each other on the phone, and all the nights they spent up and doing things far different than sleeping. Even when they weren’t together the reminder stung. If the world weren’t out to get him right now, Dream would have been with George months ago. He was sure of it.
