Summary
Trahearne's core self survives inside of the unhealed shard of Caladbolg, and comes out when the Commander speaks his name aloud in S4. He has to piece himself back together and reforge his identity. The Commander, who has been struggling with what Taimi's research indicates about dragons being necessary, is able to process her own identity crisis along with Trahearne.

Summary
This one follows right after the last, sort of; the previous scene describes an event that happened quite frequently during Trahearne's time in Orr, so this could follow any one of them. Like that one, this scene probably also repeated a couple of times. These are simply snapshots of common moments in his life, in a sort of impressionist attempt to paint a detailed picture in broad strokes.
Also I just . I've been wanting to flesh out what Trahearne's life prior to the Pact may have looked like in terms of the despair and hopelessness and, like, how he changed from that. I've been feeling a stronger kinship with him lately in the face of long-term executive dysfunction/burnout/depression/whatever. (side-eyes the active project I abandoned a year and a half ago...) There's a kind of helplessness in it, you know? Of watching all my goals and hopes and dreams seemingly fade out of the realm of possibility while I need help with basic daily tasks. And I would never have grown in the ways I have without that being the backdrop of my life. And so I figure Trahearne is pretty similar.

Summary
It was not just Mordremoth's lies and whispers that tormented Trahearne: it was Mordremoth's truths. Even after coming home, those truths haunt Trahearne. His entire world shattered.
The ability to think is the prelude to free will... but it is also one's greatest weakness in isolation.
Perhaps... there was never any way this was going to end well.
...
He made himself believe he had everything he needed and Mordremoth had nothing it could give him. (Not home, not family, not belonging.)
Not that he deserved any of it anyway. He was a dragon minion. That made him...

Walk the lonely paths of Orr/Forget the scent of grass by TIOtheTiffany
Fandom Guild Wars 2 (Video Game)
01 Jan 2026
Summary
A series of drabbles about Trahearne's time in Orr prior to 1325 AE. I thought I'd only write one of these, but there's another, so here goes! Series title is from the song "Farewell to the Firstborn" by Thornheart (available on Soundcloud only, AFAIK), which, yes, is about Trahearne. Go listen if you're unfamiliar, but warning that it's a tearjerker!

Dreams of Freedom by skaald-of-the-hearth-fires (TIOtheTiffany)

Summary
This is written to be friendly to fandom-blind readers, so dive in!
Dragons, magic, and the Dream... DoF is a foray into the hidden ways of the world of Tyria. It is stuffed full of carefully canon-compliant headcanons about how the magic works for us everyday (or not-so-everday) spellcasters, what the Dream is, and the true nature of the war against the Elder Dragons. (It's like EoD in this respect, though it was written pre-EoD.) It is a story of pursuing freedom - from the dragons and from the past. The world, magic itself, suffers from the dragons' influence. Who can free it?
DoF dives into the stories and narratives of some of the strongest characters. It ultimately begins 110 years ago when Forgal Kernsson was born, and it extends past 1325 AE and Trahearne's appointment to lead the newly-formed the Pact, which may be the last event that occurs in the familiar chronological order. Forgal and Sieran surviving, with their new backstories, shake things up more than you'd think.
The major themes of this work are expressed in two quotes: Sieran once said "this is a sad story, but perhaps we can give it a happy ending."
Almorra said, "some must fight so that all may be free."

Ascended Reborn by queer-as-used-by-tolkien (TIOtheTiffany)
Fandom Guild Wars 2 (Video Game)
07 May 2022
Summary
Trammander Trahearne!Lives AU. Initially set pre-S3, but will hopefully extend until present day. (Hopefully, I said, you know, like a writer uncertain of her free time.)
Things WILL change. This will NOT be a "the plot stays the same except Trahearne is there" fic where the whole thing is fluffy romance snippets. Trahearne's existence means more to the plot than that.I stole some lore ideas from League of Legends, but I incorporated them into GW2 lore without it being a crossover. It's not even noticeable except in the name Ascended Reborn. But it was a lore idea that lent itself QUITE nicely to a Trahearne!Lives AU, so I ran with it.

Summary
Tiffany and Fiona Tassof are pulled into the world of Tyria. They instantly begin working to change a bleak future by beginning to bring Destiny's Edge together, joining two Orders, and beating up dragon minions. There is sorrow and joy, failures and successes, miraculous ressurections and devastating deaths, but most of all... there is friendship, the joy of peace, and that good feeling that comes when you know you are doing something worthwhile.
This is crossposted from FFN but I got tired of porting the chapters over. Book 4 is up on FFN. I will take this down eventually and replace it with a (new and improved!) renamed version of this story. (It will remain in its current form on FFN for posterity.)

CRASH!
The clangor of metal rang through the cottage, followed by a string of Elven curses.
Vaarsuvius leapt from their chair and crossed the library floor, night-robe swishing about their feet as they swung into the hall. Muffled by the cottage walls, Inkyrius muttered something unintelligible. Another crash-clatter echoed from the kitchen. This time it was smaller, softer, more controlled—perhaps a pan dropped into the sink.
The saccharine scent of something baking wafted down the hall, and they took the final steps toward the kitchen to peer into the doorway.
The sight that greeted them laid waste to their poor heart.
Inkyrius stooped over the kitchen table, brow furrowed in concentration as they passed an icing bag over a fat, doughy swirl sitting atop a plate. They were already dressed, though they’d neglected to tie back their hair, fern-colored locks falling about their face and over their shoulders.
All of a sudden, Vaarsuvius was in grade school again, mustering up the courage to speak to their crush.

Bookmarker's Notes
Fav GW2 fic. THIS is that AMAZING story with Roza in the Vigil with LARANTHIR. Fav fav fav fav. AAAAHHHHH. I have history with this one, slfhalfjalfjalfjsk. (Roza is SOOO autistic-coded actually but I remember when I just related to him ridiculously strongly and everything he did and said made sense, even his nasty side seemed proper and reasonable. I wish I could reread it from that perspective, without the maturity of age and knowledge... ahhh, the self-reflection. That's how you know a story is GOOD, when it prompts such things.) I love Roza to bits and pieces. I want more like this. I want more PS-era, more Vigil, more Laranthir, more Almorra... by the Tree this is some good stuff.
