After all, life on omega-Earth was brutal. Then he’s better off dead, Aventurine finishes in his mind. He clicks his tongue. Poor guy. His only crime was standing out too much. He almost laughs at the irony. The same government that sends out thousands of PSAs a month about the safety of humanity so easily goes behind the backs of its citizens and gives orders like these. The message is clear: no one needs “salvation” if it cannot be controlled.
Well, it’s none of Aventurine’s business. He’s not a saint, and orders are orders. A few plans are already forming in his mind, before Jade adds another sentence.
