Summary
Canon-divergent story in which Wei Wuxian doesn't go to Dafan Mountain after escaping Mo Manor, and Lan Wangji dies at Dafan Mountain due to the stone dancing goddess statue eating lots of people and growing too strong. Wei Wuxian hears about this and embarks on a one-man plan of revenge... and somehow ends up with a devoted fierce corpse bodyguard who will stubbornly haunt him forever!
(Wei Wuxian has some mixed feelings about this initially… but he comes to enjoy it.)

Jinshi was in serious trouble now. With the Emperor’s children continuing to grow sick and die, he’s not sure where to go from here. The doctors were at a complete loss, and it seems that the chains of his future tighten with each passing day. At least until a young apothecary girl with sharp blue eyes, a splattering of freckles, and was as blunt as a hammer comes into his life. Despite having everything handed to him on a silver platter, Jinshi had lived a lonely and dull life where he learned to hide his true face behind a façade he presents to the court… until he meets Maomao.
For the first time, someone sees past his mask to his true self and she fills his world with color. Jinshi's feelings for Maomao evolve from initial curiosity and amusement to deep affection and romantic interest until he realized he cannot live without her.
This is going to be a retelling of the Apothecary Diaries only they’re told from Jinshi's POV, based on both the anime and light novels. (Season 1-2 of the anime, Light Novels 1-4)
