   Summary

   Hesitation was her downfall. Which was ironic, considering her job. At work, hesitation was a matter of life and death. Think too much, take too long, and everything goes to shit. In the ER she was fast in her mind and on her feet, her speed was her strength.

   Here—anywhere—with Frank, all she could do was hesitate. It doesn’t matter how much she wants this—wants him—she couldn’t find the “go” switch in her mind she could find at work. It’s not like it wasn’t as real, it was, and it was tangible.

    

   Or, Mel King loves Frank Langdon. Frank Langdon loves Mel King. Neither of them will say it.
