Summary
After three weeks of nightmares, when Andrea is ready to snap, there is a change to the monotonous nightly terror: the eye-covered man is wearing a shirt with words.
More accurately, the eye-covered man is wearing a shirt with hand written words. It reads “this is Elias Bouchard’s fault, he works at the Magnus Institute, office #160, sorry!”
(Jon provides a little direction for some haunted statement givers)

Summary
Jon’s voice cuts off with the sound of tearing paper, like the words themselves are being ripped from his throat.
He sucks in a sharp breath, ragged and hoarse, and Martin wants, badly, to comfort him; to take Jon’s face in his hands or hold him or ask him what the hell he just walked into. But getting rid of this statement feels more important right now. This thing was hurting Jon, somehow, so it needs to be gone, now.
Martin comes home early, and keeps up a long-running tradition of keeping doors locked firmly in Elias's face.

Summary
Jon takes another breath. He can’t bear to look at Martin’s face as he says it; he fixes his gaze on the far corner bedpost instead. “I . . . don’t want to have sex with you. I don’t want to have sex with anyone.”

Summary
“There is another timeline that can be yours to play with,” offered the Spider, light and mocking. “Yours to divert as you wish. Nothing can change this ending. But you can forge a new beginning.”
“Yes,” gasped Jon gratefully. “Yes, that.”
“What a wonderful gift for the Mother of Puppets,” it teased him. “An attempt to manipulate an entire universe toward a better shape.”
This world was set on the path to its destruction too long ago, and not entirely by him. Gertrude Robinson had uncovered the keys, and Jonah Magnus had engineered the end. Jon would need to go further back than that to fix it.
All the way back to the start.

In 1976, Gertrude Robinson finds James Wright dead on the floor of his office. There is a strange, angry avatar of the Eye knelt over him, covered in blood, claiming to be from the future.

Summary
It was the third time the tape recorder showed up on a first date that Martin lost his cool.
"I've--er---I've got to go," he stuttered, and threw some notes on the table. It was time to have a talk with Jon.
