Dan Heng does not dream.
The moment his egg had cracked, he had seen the clear reflection of the light that the artificial sun produced hitting the water he was surrounded by. His eyes glanced up at it, as if in a daze, no matter how much it stung.

Dan Heng, since his hatching rebirth, always had a special place to retreat to. One where two figures who called themselves Long and Yaoshi, as well as what looked like an older version of himself, rested, looking after him in their own, very distinct, way.
Despite their weird existence, even after learning what they were named after, he did his best and tried to weave his own fate without letting them lend a hand.
However, when a Stellaron burst occurs in the Luofu and the Astral Express comes to help, weird things seem to start happening around Dan Heng, making him uncover more and more mysteries regarding the entities living in his head, each weirder than the last.

Summary
Ajax, having been deformed and spat out of the Abyss as a creature of the unknown, struggles to adjust back into casual, mundane life. A group of strange people are there for him to lean on; they’re nice, they feed and water and clothe him, teach him things he long since deemed useless in the Abyss.
It is nice. And slow. And monotonous, and makes the itching under his skin burn ever brighter.

“What are they?” Meryl asked, gasping for breath as she ducked behind the frame of the truck. She discarded two derringers into the sand and drew two more from their holsters under her cape.
Vash crouched next to her and ejected the empty shells from his Colt. “Lost technology.”
“All the way out here?”
Vash reloaded and gave her a tight smile. "I guess some of the shipwrecks haven’t been discovered yet."

Summary
Wolfwood turned to his other side and found Vash staring out into the middle distance with a small frown.
An annoyed huff escaped him. “Needle-noggin, this ain’t no time to space out.”
Still no answer. Which wasn't unusual per say—sometimes Vash just tuned out for a while, lost in memories or thoughts that were decidedly none of Wolfwood’s business—except for the fact that they were in the middle of a shootout.

Bandits are attacking a Sandsteamer to steal the resident Plant and of course Vash, Wolfwood, and Meryl end up in the middle of it. The whole thing would be much easier to handle if something bad wasn't happening to Vash at the same time.
