“Okay,” Snufkin said, cutting over Moomin and ignoring his horrified yelp. He turned away from Moomin, face still flushed as he stared at Snorkmaiden, but his voice was confident as he asked, “Moomin kiss or mumrik one?”

Pokémon have their own grapevine, and through it, Red learns about a new up-and-coming trainer named Hyacinth who swept in out of nowhere to claim leadership of the Viridian City Gym, a position that he feels should have gone to Green if he couldn't still be Champion, except for that Green Oak disappeared off the face of the planet around the same time Red himself did.
He still waits for Green to find him.
