Summary
Walking through the gloom, with only the light of torches to guide him, he swallows thickly as he draws nearer and nearer to the last cell. A part of him fears what he’s going to see and what Yeong-shin will tell him, yet another part of him wants nothing more than to see, touch, and be held by him once more. Chang shakes his head. What is wrong with him?!
All too soon, he reaches the last cell and looks in. His eyes widen in horror at what he sees. Yeong-shin is slumped forward on his knees, arms bound behind him tightly, and his head is lowered.
He knows that the man in there isn’t actually Yeong-shin and that he's a Tiger Rebel likely sent to kill him and his father. In his mind, he knows this, and yet, in his heart, this man is also the same man who swore his loyalty to him and promised to protect him and to always be by his side. Despite what his logic and reasoning are saying, he can't help but despair when he sees his once proud and strong guardsman reduced to such a state. He quickly unlocks the cell door and rushes forward, falling to his knees before the man he loves.
