Summary
The Faro Plague ravages through Japan, and due to the efforts of Operation: Enduring Victory, Rintaro is among the group of able-bodied civilians assigned to face the swarm that will spell the end of the world. He was tired, but hope arrives with Kaoruko's group only just arriving at the outpost he was stationed in.
But other than a sense of relief, he was also filled with a paralyzing dread in his body. Emotions clash fiercly inside him, and with his last ever chance to talk to Kaoruko being presented in front of him, would he be able to take it?
(You don't need to have played the Horizon games to read this, but if you do plan on playing them, I highly suggest you go through the first game, Horizon Zero Dawn, to get the full context for this story.

Summary
Being in charge of a group is hard. Protecting a group from unknown dangers however, is even more difficult. Gwen learns this the hard way when she and the rest of the Total Drama cast were flung 700 years in the future because of Scarlet. Whether or not this was fate, Gwen and her closest companions must find a way to make a living in this new life, but the dangers of the Outlands and the fact that she and two other members are mutated makes this all the more dangerous. Gwen will have to look through the virtue of sacrifice in order to keep the group alive, but lives aren't the only things that can be sacrificed.
