There'd been almost a certain comfort to... pining. Not knowing if one's feelings could ever be reciprocated, basking in the weirdness of their non-existent boundaries that they pushed a bit further every single day. They did that for years, too scared to break the perfect omeostasis of the unseen and the unspoken that ruled their friendship.
It all ends tonight.
Jinx had asked herself, as the seasons grew away from the last time she did, how it would feel now to care for the person she kissed.

Summary
Jinx is a brilliant 27-year-old lawyer working at the famous law firm of her late father, Silco. One day, she receives a proposal for a divorce case, nothing out of the ordinary for her, but this one was different for two reasons :
- Her client was famous. The stakes went beyond mere financial considerations ; she could finally prove her own merit, free from the shadow of her father’s name.
- The opposing party is represented by a familiar name... ‘Ekko’.
‘... What !?’ she says, running her hands through her blue hair, ‘NOOOOOOO!’. Her voice boomed so loudly that a bird perched on the branch outside the window fluttered its wings and flew away.
Gert, her associate lawyer and best-friend, instantly turned her head, heart ready to burst.
She screamed as if the world was collapsing, splitting open and ready to swallow her whole, yet to her, it felt exactly like it was. And with good reason : Ten years ago, Jinx left her hometown of Zaun and her childhood sweetheart behind to start a new life.
But here she is today, pitted against that sexy-as-hell ex and worrying more about losing the case than something far more precious…

Mono only rolled his eyes. “I meant, you’ve got a point. I do want to know the reason behind her stupid decision. So fine! I’ll follow you until I get to ask her…”
“Oh, that’s great!”
“And kill her after...” he deliberately mumbled it loud enough so Viola could hear him.
She shot him a death glare.
“What? I was joking! Can’t a guy make a silly joke about killing his betrayer he once called a friend?” Mono smiled innocently as if that joke wasn’t dark itself.
“That’s my mom you’re talking about, so you better be joking.” She put her hand on Mono’s shoulder. “Or else I’m gonna have to bury two bodies instead of one.” Viola patted him on the back and walked away.
Now it was her turn to smile oh-so-innocently.
