“What do you want Crowley?” Aziraphale tentatively asked as he stepped forward, his voice ever so slightly trembled. The bookshop turned into what reminded Aziraphale of the Garden of Eden.
“You know what I want, I want a real universe. I want the people to have a chance. I want Free Will to be a real thing. People deserve the chance… to live a real world.” Crowley paused his voice threaten to tremble, he felt his eyes wanting to water. “Even if there are no angels. No demons. No us. Ever again,”
Yellow demonic eyes meet blue angelic eyes. They both made their choice, that they would chose Humanity’s Free Will over themselves. But they will meet again, their souls always destined to meet again and again. A demon and angel’s love for one another, so powerful it could transcend lifetimes.

It’s Amy and Sonic; they had to make a big fuss instead of ignoring all familiarity at a professional setting. And this was a professional setting, Shadow took his job very seriously.

Summary
Sonic's life had felt ordinary lately, but it began to change one holiday morning when someone he never expected knocked on his door.
His life changed since that day. After the change, he had to try to adjust to it, something that made him feel like he didn't belong at his house. Until, finally, he slowly came to accept the change and perhaps ultimately rejected it if that were taken away from him.[AKA What if Shadow suddenly befriended with Tails, and that makes Sonic terribly pissed, like his brother got snatched from him.]
