She should stay away from any name that she ever heard in association to it. Unfortunately that wasn't so easy through when James Buchanan Barnes keeps popping up like a freaking pop-up ad.

Once a seamstress, she now serves as an admin clerk at Fort Hamilton, processing men headed to war. Most days are routine until a voice cuts through the monotony. Smooth. Persistent.

A slow-burn story of proper courtship with a Black American life in 1940s Brooklyn on (and off of) a military base.
The story begins as Eula Mae in 1942 and takes place before & during all events in Captain America: The First Avenger.Writer’s Note: Eula Mae is a black American. Light themes of racism and Black culture will be present in the context of America in the 40's. I understand this may be hard for some to self-insert and apologize for any discomfort. This is a slow burn, full of yearning and worth the wait.

Jack Benjamin has escaped his imprisonment and made his way to NYC.
TJ Hammond has owned his sobriety and decided to make a move to NYC.The two are brought together by the fact that they look alike. TJ is put out by the detainment in the airport for what's obviously a case of mistaken identity when he's accused of traveling on forged documents. Jack's life could hang on the line if his detainment is discovered across the world, he's accused of the exact crime he's currently committing, traveling on forged documents. Once the mix-up is cleared up, TJ demands to see the person responsible for his embarrassment. The fact that the man looks so much like him is enough to try to help him.
