Through Nico and Seb and Charles and Abu Dhabi 2021 sitting between them like something neither of them has ever been willing to name. Through Lewis being warm with everyone in the paddock and specifically, carefully, cooler with Max.
Then Lewis retires. Six months later he sits down in a green silk shirt with too many buttons undone and says something true for the first time.
