Summary
Seven months into Severus Snape's term as Headmaster, he finally perfects a potion that could change the war for the better… or destroy everything Dumbledore set in motion before his death.
Dumbledore is dead, and his plans seem to be falling apart before Severus' eyes. Harry Potter and his friends are no closer to finding and destroying the Horcruxes, and Voldemort's hold over the wizarding world is growing. Severus Snape desperately creates a potion that can send him back five years into the past. Hopefully, with more time, he can find the Horcruxes, find a way to save Harry from the Horcrux inside him and maybe even save some of his other students along the way.
Or he could fail and doom them all.

TW for the series: As of Chapter 86 in December 2023, the rating for this fic has been updated to M from T. For the last half of this story, there have been more and more fight scenes and deaths, and I have felt like I have been toeing the line, so finally increased the rating. All problematic scenes have TW at the start of the chapter so the reader can skip scenes if they wish.Series

Chapter 1: This is a small character list with a few notes. It should be used if a name pops up and you want a reminder of a few details. It doesn't include the main characters much, though I have included a few main characters with AU notes in case you want to check something. There are spoilers, so be cautious about checking this out too early in the story. This is a work in progress so if I forgot something please let me know. Do not read if you have not read Chapter 37 of the main story!
Chapter 2 and all future chapters: Harry's Fourth year is getting monthly calendars of events - September 1994 is Chapter 2 of this story. October 1994 is chapter 3 and so forth.

Summary
What if Snape had agreed to become the Head of Slytherin House, not because Dumbledore wanted him to, but because he wanted to save Slytherin? What if he used his cunning to reform the house right under Dumbledore's nose?
He could save some of the Slytherins from the mistakes he made. He could find the ones who wanted to walk away and help them. And if he created in them a house loyalty deeper than their loyalty to Voldemort, the ones who wouldn’t walk away might be able to save each other in the end. The first step was to keep them from becoming willing slaves while here at Hogwarts.
Severus knew from his own years here that Slytherins were happiest when they were plotting. The problem was that Hogwarts wasn’t structured to give them drama, so they had had to create it. If he could keep them busy with other things, they might learn how to focus their energy. The House Cup had long since lost its allure as it was biased, so he would have to create other challenges for them. After all these bitter years, he had nothing kind left in him, but in the end, the choice was easy. He did it for her. Because it was something she would want him to do if she still lived.

Summary
Seven months into Severus Snape's term as Headmaster perfects a potion to send his soul back five years so that he can change the war for the better. Once back, Severus decides that since Dumbledore's plans led to Voldemort taking over the Ministry and Harry fumbling around, he would create his own plan without Dumbledore's help. He takes over Harry's training and prepares Harry for the upcoming war while accidentally giving Harry the family he always craved.
Snape decides to begin the Horcrux hunt now, along with organizing allies to help stop Voldemort's return. He uses his skills as Britain's youngest potion master to change their fate by working with guilds, werewolves, the ICW, the Ministry, and goblins. Because a war can't be won by one person, and the magical world deserves the right to fight for its own freedom instead of relying on children.
Series TW:
Before chapter 37 there is very little violence. However, the violent scenes begin to build from there as the war draws close. As of December 2023, Chapter 86, I changed the rating from T to M as the rest of the chapters will be entirely focused on the war. I offer to provide an alternate group of chapters from thereon for anyone who wants that.- Words:
