“Jesus. How many of you Super-freaks are there?” Jason’s voice came out deep and accented and sounded immediately familiar despite the fact that they hadn’t met before now. Somewhere between Troy Baker, Jensen Ackles, and a third thing in the back of his mind. But this Jason wasn’t animated, he was real. This was the voice he had been imagining in his head for every word balloon.
Prime had been hoping for instant recognition, but he’d planned for Jason not to know him. It was possible that he’d rehearsed a scenario or two in the mirror. Improvising all of his dialogue was harder than it looked.
“Ja—uh. Red Hood. I’m Superboy Prime.”
He grinned his best winning smile, the kind that said ‘Aren’t I disarming?’ and held no traces of ‘I’ve read under the red hood more than twenty times and may or may not have voted to kill you.’
In which Prime ropes Jason Todd into his long and somewhat convoluted path to redemption.

The bile in his mouth is bitter as Bart swallows it back down. Jaime’s still looking at him, concern and not contempt in his eyes.
This is not the same Blue Beetle that he knew from back then (from future then? Time has always been inherently weird for the West-Allens). The Blue Beetle that he grew up knowing was a monster, emotionless, inhuman. This Blue Beetle is different. He wears the same symbol on his chest but he hasn’t turned yet. Bart can still save him. He has to. If he keeps him close, he’ll be able to spot the catalyst, be able to pull him back from the brink before he jumps.
(And a part of him wonders what the fuck he’s doing, a kid sent on a suicide mission. He had a goal to stop the ticking time bomb, not befriend it.)
