She sighs at you as she tries to jimmy her mail key loose. “I know.”
It wouldn’t even be that bad if the kid would just skateboard outside. Or get good at skateboarding. Either of those things. Maggie’s a nice lady, though, and she’s had “trying my best” scribbled all over her since they moved into 6B maybe eight years ago. So you try not to be a dick, even if her son is a gold-standard pain in the ass. He’s good for three things: smells, noise, and reminding you how big Eddie must be by now. -

Derry is now dealing with a new nightmare of the legal and logistical sort, Richie doesn’t want to look a gift turtle in the mouth, the Losers Club is better with kids than their parents ever were, and Eddie Kaspbrak is a mess. Not that that’s news to anyone.

Even big, scary guard dogs have owners, Will would think as Mike stayed put for him.

“Dude, what am I going to do for 3 months? I’ve got no gigs coming up, no media appearances. Everything's on hold.”
A pause. Then Mike says, “What are you talking about, man? Eddie is still going.”

Those five words were all it took for Richie to melt back into Eddie’s mattress and succumb to the pleasure. He was always a people pleaser at heart, but even worse than that, he was an Eddie pleaser.
