Summary
The long table was overflowing with an array of desserts, but a closer look revealed that something was off about each one. Near the ex-healer’s plate sat what could barely be called a cake. It was a sad, uneven thing. Its frosting was a washed-out pink, sloppily coated, with sliced strawberries scattered across the surface in a pattern that seemed to follow no rhyme or reason. Baby’s breath and white daisies poked out at random, and on top sat a pomegranate split open, spilling its ruby seeds like guts and afterthoughts. Six golden crooked candles flickered weakly on its surface.
Truthless Recluse appeared more hesitant than ever—as if even he, in all his detachment, sensed something deeply unsettling beneath the sugary chaos.
His host, seated just across from him, appeared absolutely delighted. The blue jester was over the moon, admiring each treat with childlike wonder, until his heterochromia blue eyes locked onto him, glowing with a hunger that sent a chill down the blonde-haired cookie’s spine.
Shadow Milk Cookie gave him a sharp smile in turn.

Then, he felt it. The sensation crept into his dough, a deep, gnawing dread curling in his stomach like vines preparing to strangle their prey. He wasn't alone. His Soul Jam flickered with a faint glow, casting a soft light into the darkness, as if trying to ward off his unease.

Summary
Macaque.
The very thought of him made something coil tight within Wukong’s chest. Despite their uneasy alliance, the tension between them had settled into something…more palpable. He had agreed to trust MK’s judgment about the dark-furred monkey, but there were times when Macaque’s gaze felt like a physical thing—like it reached through him, clawing at something he didn’t want to acknowledge.
That gaze. The way the shadow monkey’s eyes seemed to gleam with something darker, something deeper, left a chill crawling up Wukong’s spine. There was a hunger there. Hungry for what? He wasn’t sure.
Wukong tried to ignore it. It didn’t matter. Whatever Macaque wanted from him, it wasn’t worth his time. He was used to dealing with threats, both subtle and overt.
What he didn’t know, however, was that Macaque’s gaze (always so unsettling) wasn’t just a passing thing.
It was the beginning.
The beginning of something that would consume him entirely.

Rumors whispered through the Celestial halls like a chilling breeze, tales of lovers who had vanished without a trace after these fateful nights. Those brave (or foolish) enough to fall under the charm of the two Monkey Kings were never seen again. Some said they were whisked away to realms unknown, lost to eternity in a paradise of endless indulgence. Others claimed darker fates that these lovers became mere playthings, used and discarded, their bodies consumed by the insatiable appetites of the kings.
No one dared speak the truth aloud, but the warnings were clear: a night in their embrace was a night you may never return from. Yet, despite the dangers, the allure was too tempting for some to resist.
The mystery, the power, the beauty, it was a seduction far more potent than any whispered warning.

Summary
The city is safe once more. Lady Bone Demon has been defeated, and life is beginning to return to normal—or as normal as one can be in a world filled with demons and gods. Monkey King and MK are working on rebuilding their relationship to something deeper than just mentor and successor, aiming for a bond akin to a father and son. Trust and communication are the foundation of any strong relationship, yet the line between friends and enemies remains paper thin. Some bonds grow stronger over time, while others weaken. However, not everyone can change for the better. Not all bonds or relationships deserve a second chance. Certain obsessions run so deep that they can’t help but sink their dark tip claws into a still-beating golden heart, refusing to let go.
Shadows will always chase after light, even if the light slowly dims.

"It's for you! Umm, a small gift, you could say! Open it!" MK then shoved the box closer to Monkey King, whose tail swayed in excitement at being given a gift. After all, he was a god and loved all acts of devotion.
“Aww, thanks, buddy! You didn't have to bring me anything, but I appreciate it!"
Wukong also tried hard to work on his communication skills with the kid to show he cared. So, offering words of encouragement and gentle acknowledgments was the way to go.
The box was a suitcase-like structure, a deep, dark purple leather, with a broken silver latch. The latch seemed to have some type of lock once long ago, but Mei and MK must've busted it when they first came upon it. Opening it delicately, the orange-furred monkey peered into the open box, and a quiet gasp of awe poured out of the king's lips.
